We are looking for a Human Resources Manager who has experience in interviewing, hiring, firing and forming/managing large teams (of 50 + writers and editors) He/she must have a strong understanding of journalism / news in order to recruit for top quality Filipino writers and editors.
The editorial team he/she will build must be fluent in American style English providing top quality original articles. Poorly written articles will not be accepted or published by our site. The HR manager must develop a good system to maintain the highest quality staff and weed out the staff who plagiarize or do not contribute to our brand in a positive way.
Plagiarism is ABSOLUTELY NOT tolerated.
Your responsibilities as a FULL TIME HR Manager is to:
-Post job postings for available staff positions (editors and writers)
-Recruiting and staffing logistics; sort through and review resumes, check references, conduct interviews, writing tests, etc.
-Performance management and improvement tracking systems;
-Staff orientation, development, and training logistics and recordkeeping of invoices and article standards;
-Company staff communication;
-PTO administration and recordkeeping; keep track of staff absence requests
The Human Resources manager contributes to the accomplishment of Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an staff-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
-The Human Resources manager helps with the implementation of services, policies, and programs; reports to the supervisor
-Edit and proofread articles if needed
-Any other HR matters that is needed as we grow
or staff
Desired Skills and Expertise
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team.
Minimum three years HR experience.
Minimum three years of journalism / writing / editing experience
Experienced in managing large teams
Typing skills with at least 50 WPM.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others.
High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information.
Ability and willingness to work some early mornings and evenings
Compensation:
-Base salary will be $800 US dollars per month
-Base salary will increase as traffic goals of the entire team are met.
