Audio engineer/Audio editing/Audio production: perform mixing audio and audio mastering for an audio book recording.

-Voice actors are recording their readings for various characters of a childrens book and will provide you with their recording files.

-You will be responsible for using an audio editing program such as Audacity [free] to clean up the audio, merge the recordings for the various voice actor recordings, harmonize recording levels, and produce a master recording.

-You will use the ACX recording guidelines for engineering the audio of the childrens book.

-Consistency in audio levels, tone, noise level, spacing, and pronunciation helps give the listener a great experience. Drastic changes can be jarring and are not in keeping with a professional production. Extreme fluctuations in volume means the listener will have to keep a hand on the volume control of their listening device. This detracts from the listening experience and may lead to poor reviews and reduced sales.

-file must be free of extraneous sounds such as plosives, mic pops, mouse clicks, excessive mouth noise, and outtakes.
