JOB OVERVIEW

Position Overview:

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for checking the accuracy and completeness of transactions recorded by the Accounting Clerk and Branch staff in the CD Asia Enterprise System (CAES). He/She is in charge of payments/remittances to the BIR.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure daily transactions are properly recorded and substantiated and subsequently posted in CAES
Check, on a daily basis, correctness of journal entries made in the CAES
Prepare monthly accruals
Check transactions of branches thru the CAES and scanned documents transmitted to the Head Office for completeness and accuracy. Recommend adjusting entries to correct errors.
Conduct inventory of accountable forms
Update, on a monthly basis, the Depreciation Schedule
Check quarterly inventory report of furniture, fixtures and equipment against Depreciation Schedule and General Ledger and investigate discrepancies. Recommend possible disposal or write-off of fully depreciated FFE
Prepare bank reconciliation and recommend adjusting entries
Prepare BIR schedule and remittances (1601-E,1601-C, 1601-F,1603,2550M,etc) on or before deadline set
Process payments for company loans
Ensure correctness of checks and check vouchers prior to release for payment
Compute and process royalty payments due on products and software
Monitor and remit sales made under distributorship agreement/s with partners and ensure subsequent collection of commissions
Ensure that jobs of Accounting Clerk and Branch Staff are delivered on time correctly and accurately
Perform duties related to the foregoing as may assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

Graduate of B.S. Accountancy
At least 2 years experience doing accounting or related work
Fresh Graduates may also apply
Proficiency in accounting principles and concepts
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in English
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work effectively in a team
Strong relational skills

Good moral character
Honesty and integrity
