What we are looking for:
An experienced Ruby on Rails developer with at least 3-year-experience on design and development of production-ready Rails apps.The successful candidate will be responsible for developing web applications within the framework, and for participating in other projects that are in support of deliverables.
The applicant must have strong technical skills, be independent and resourceful, be able to communicate and collaborate effectively and professionally, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
Job Responsibilities:
• Brainstorming future implementations
• Maximizing platform efficiency
• Working collaboratively with brilliant and motivated engineers designing and developing a platform which increases efficiency for teams of developers
• Develop new and existing web projects/features based on open source technology.
• Work closely with the team on both front-end and back-end code; provide general support for developers when necessary.
• Constantly communicate with other developers regarding issues, bugs, clarifications, and recommendations that arise during testing to ensure they are properly addressed.
• Perform quality assurance testing on projects as well as code reviews - Cross Browser compatibility and Usability Testing.
• Make recommendations on how to enhance user web experience through innovative ideas.
Qualifications:
• Experience with Mysql is required.
• Competency or experience with scripts/tools such as HTML5, CSS, and JS. Knowledge of at least one framework or tool for JS(e.g.Jquery, dojo, coffeescript, etc.) is required and a knowledge of Sass or Scss is a plus. Experience and knowledge of Ajax is also required.
• Knowledge and experience of web service on RoR.
• You must also have a good verbal and communication skills. Being able to communicate and understand the idea of logic of your code proficiently.
• Excel in a team development and environment such as collaborative development.
• Familiarity with Linux and its tools and commands such as Cron, symlink, and others.
• Experienced in other languages other than Ruby (e.g. PHP, ASP, CFML, etc.).
• Has worked with SVN, Git, or any other kinds of source code control system.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong grasp of software design fundamentals and pattern.
• Fundamental knowledge of Software Engineering concepts.
• Has the ability to work independently
• A technical bachelor’s degree of IT or CS is required.
