Job Title: Technical Writer / VA
Type of Position: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Working Time Zone: Flexible (United States working hours not required)

Position Description:
Thor Teaches ( ---------- ) is an online educational training company that specializes in video-based training for information technology, cybersecurity, and project management. We are look for a full-time technical writer / VA to join our team while working remotely.

As a technical writer, you will be writing various different types of content across these three industries, including articles/newsletters, one-page scripts based on a topic you will research, email campaigns, study guides (based upon our video content), and other similar types of writing of educational content of a technical nature.
As a VA you will help with general VA tasks in times where the operations side of the house needs assistance.
GVA tasks include answering reviews, emails, adding students to Facebook group and mailing lists, uploading content, edit subtitles, and similar tasks.

You should be well organized, willing to learn new things, be able to write excellent content, have the ability to perform research on a topic, and deliver high-quality work, on schedule, with minimal supervision.

Thor Teaches is not looking to hire on a per-article or temporary basis.
We are interested in finding the right person to join our team for a long-term position.
You will have the chance to keep growing and learning within the company as we continue to expand.

You do not need to be an expert in information technology, cybersecurity, or project management, but you must be willing and able to learn and grow with our company.
As an online training company, we will give you the training, time, and resources you need to do your research and write your content on the topics.
The training can be both from within our own course offerings and training from other instructors outside our company.
Skills:
- Exceptional written and spoken English is a must.
- Most work and communication will occur over email or chat.
- Once a week you will be expected to participate in our staff meetings over Skype. We record weekly meetings and training sessions to ensure the knowledge is kept and we can refer back to it.
- Ability to research topics and provide a written summary/article.
- Ability to find relevant articles on the web for a topic and provide a single paragraph summary (for posting to social media/newsletters)
- Excellent time management skills
- Good organizational skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Willingness and desire to learn new things (paid training is provided)
- Desire to be a part of a fast-growing company that changes student’s lives
Responsibilities:
- Researching topics and creating articles, posts, or scripts
- Research and post relevant articles to our Facebook group/newsletters
- Convert transcripts of video lessons into articles or chapters for publishing
- GVA tasks as needed.

Write an article about the 8 different types of internet connections, including cable, DSL, dial-up, fiber, satellite, ISDN, cellular, and line-of-sight wireless internet service.
(9) Networking Tools
Write an article about crimpers, cable strippers, toner generators and probes, cable testers, and punchdown tools.
(10) Cooling Systems
Write an article about the methods of cooling in a computer, including thermal paste, heat sinks, fans, and liquid cooling.
