Junior Web Developer (Telecommute)

HARNESS is in need of a junior web developer for our team in the PI. This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated, self-driven individual looking to join a US-based startup. Our deadlines are always realistic and we never micromanage. We are looking for a developer who can work independently and can also collaborate with a team, remote or otherwise. You will be given projects to do for our clients and we want someone who can take ownership of the task and produce professional work with minimum supervision. This an entry-level developer post. You will be working with our Cebu-based team— a Sr. Web Developer and Upgrade to see actual infoeractive Media Designer—and consult with the Las Vegas team daily for standup meetings.

We are a privately held startup company that is rapidly growing and expanding in the digital marketing space. We currently have 2 remote locations outside of our Las Vegas HQ. We offer competitive salaries, promote from within and offer development training.

The position is a remote telecommute position where you would work from home or wherever you find convenient. You must be located in the Philippines and willing to work within the hours of 8AM-9PM Pacific Time/12MN-1PM Philippine Time. • Design and develop the UI (User-Interface) layer of eCommerce websites using HTML, CSS, XSLT, JavaScript, JQuery and Wicket.
• Work with developers, system engineers, and QA engineers throughout the product development, testing, and implementation phases.
• Create HTML templates and React Components based on mockups from the user interface design team.
• Create, edit, and manage web templates within our content management system.
• Interface with web services using REST APIs.
• Follow coding and layout standards co-developed by user interface designers and software engineers.
• Stay current on technical advancements and suggest ways to streamline tasks and processes for efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
• A minimum 1-year experience with HTML, XSLT, JavaScript, JQuery, and CSS required.
• Professional experience with Node.js, React, Webpack and Redux highly desirable.
• Mobile app development experience using Objective-C and Java highly desirable.
• Experience with Tag Management Systems like Google Tag Manager desirable.
• Knowledge and understanding of Web Analytics tools like Google Analytics desirable.
• Must excel in a fast-paced, interactive cross-functional team environment.
• Must have clear oral and written communication skills.
