JOB OVERVIEW

Your basic qualifications:
• must be an experienced video motion graphics designer
• must be able to ENHANCE edited videos that helps businesses, brands, and start-ups connect meaningfully with their audience through story.
• can use software of choice, but must be able to import and export the project file into and out of different file types for possible hand offs.
• having your own Creative direction is welcomed where an opportunity to implement an idea still exists.
• have 3D skill-set (proficient with shading, texturing, etc and have experience with Cinema4D, Maya, Blender, etc., is a plus, but not required.
• have 2D or 3D animation skill-set (character manipulation, original illustrations, etc.) is also a plus, but not required.

You perfectly fit if you also have these skillsets:
• Enhancements that do not distract, but ADDS to the impact of the video?
• Enhancements that "engage the mind's attention and heart's affection"?
• Proficient in creating and manipulating shape layers?
• Proficient in color CORRECTING multiple footage sources to MATCH?
• Highly creative and adaptive when providing a color GRADE that delivers the overall "feel" that the client wants?
• Use of animated power-windows when necessary?
• CLEAN chroma key ability and knowledge of techniques to make background replacements realistic?
• Proficient in rotoscoping and compositing?
• Logo animation/manipulation and ability to create vectors of logos if client can not provide something greater than a JPEG or PNG?
• Ability to create original, animated elements (e.g. lower thirds, call-outs, infographics, transitions) without the need for templates though, depending on the scope of particular projects, use of already created assets to save time and money will not be frowned upon?
• Being able to run with vague ideas and little to no direction?
• Able to empathize with the target audience and design/grade accordingly?
• Team player?


Your Projects/Tasks:
•Work will be for a creative studio that uses the power of visual storytelling to simplify complex concepts.
•Assignments will consist of providing the motion design, color grade, and final export during the finishing ("online") stage of editing for varying video genres depending on the needs of the client.
• Depending on the initial clarity of a project, the motion designer/colorist may be required to work closely with the whole production team to come up with ideas and a plan of action as they bring to the table their specific perspective and area of expertise.

Budget/Timeline:
•Budget, requirements, and timeline will be determined on an individual, "per project" basis as different clients send requests.
•The availability of the motion designer/colorist and how many hours he or she can dedicate will be discussed and taken into account before the start of every project.
