JOB OVERVIEW

-----------------
NOTE: Before you read this job opening, please know that
you need to read the whole thing. If you submit your information
not in the way that I ask, I will simply delete it and you won't
hear from me. I'm just trying to get around those people who
copy/paste the same thing over and over again and don't
follow instructions. If you follow my instructions, that's my
first test. :-)
------------------

Are you looking for an opportunity to work with an expanding online company, one where your expertise is valued, your opinion is invited, and where what you earn will increase over time?

I want to hire a content coordinator for a busy web publishing company. This job will entail research, compiling data for usage in blog posts, data gathering, and perhaps even some basic blog writing. The two blogs we run are in the technology niche and the blogging niche, so you need to be familiar with these areas.

And I have to state upfront, this job isn't for everyone. I'm looking for a very unique person to fill this job.

I'm looking for somebody who can not only do what is needed, but also loves contributing new ideas and helping me think outside the box. I want to work with someone who isn't just interested in taking orders, but is willing to play an active role in helping me proactively make great blog content.

You'll have an active role in compiling quality content for our two blogs and aiding my writing team to make the best possible content for our audience.

I'm basically looking for a talented, hard working person that would like to become a valuable member of my team.

Too many companies just want to hire people for a low salary and get all the work they can out of them. I'm different. I want a real team member who enjoys working with me as much as I enjoy working with them. I want somebody who enjoys their job.

I'm really looking for that special person that could become a 'superstar' on my team.

Here's just some of the criteria that this person would meet:

- Has their own computer and highspeed Internet connection.
- Speaks, Reads, and Writes very good English. Must be able to write and help produce content for an English speaking audience without major grammatical errors.
- Can work from home without distractions.
- Can use Skype.
- Can use Basecamp (project management system). Am willing to teach you this if you're not familiar with it.
- Is willing to learn new things. Can easily be trained other skills.
- Has a strong interest in technology and blogging, because this position will be very dependent on keeping tabs on current trends in the fields of technology and blogging.

HAS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

- Must be very adept with Wordpress
- Must have excellent English writing skills
- Must have an advanced knowledge of how to find/research information on the Internet.
- Must know how to perform keyword research for the purpose of determining what kind of content to produce for our sites.
- Really needs to have a natural interest in computers, mobile technology, web apps, social media - the various topics we discuss on our tech blog. Your interest and passion in these areas will directly impact your job performance and it cannot be faked.
- Knows how to create Powerpoint presentations

In short, your job will be to back up me and my authors
when it comes to creating great content. You will be the eyes and ears, helping us gather information we need, keep tabs on what to talk about, and help with the logistics of creating/publishing great content for our blogs.

Let me know why you think you'd be great for this job.

--- THIS IS IMPORTANT ---

I know that many of you respond to a lot of job offers and
don't usually hear back from them. Understand, however, that
people like me often get a lot of responses to our openings
that all pretty much look the same.

I'm specifically looking for people who stand out, and who
show me not just an interest in getting a paycheck, but a real
interest in what we're doing. I want real people, who could
potentially turn into real friends.

To respond to this job offering, please follow these instructions:
(1) Send an email to superstars@davidrisley.com with the subject line: "I'm a Superstar Researcher!"
(2) In the email, please write a small essay (doesn't have to be too long) telling me why you think you'd be a great fit for this position. Think of it like a small blog post - to me.
(3) Please include items of particular interest to this position.

NOTE: I'm specifically looking for people who do what I ask here. I ask these things for a particular reason, so if any of my instructions are not followed, you will never hear from me. I don't want traditional resumes. I want people who act like real people with real interest. Find a way to stand out from the crowd! Get creative!

We'll start with a trial period. If everything works out, we'll
extend our relationship and we can talk about pay raises. I'm more than happy to pay for great work. :-)

Hope to hear from you and let me know how you
stand out. Should we end up working together, I'd like it to
prove to be a great, long-term relationship.

Thank you!
