SAFETY OFFICER
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Develop, implement and enforce policies that reduce the risk of accidents.
• Determines what policies are needed and how to enforce them.
• Responsible for keeping policies up to date.
• Meeting the latest standards and establishing new ones from time to time as more and newer risks are discovered.
• In charge of inspecting site conditions to determine if hazards are present and to establish procedures and policies to overcome those hazardous situations. The safety officer looks for broken equipment, defective tools, and other potential hazards, focusing on worker safety.
• Determines what type of personal protective equipment (PPE) is needed and makes sure that workers know how to operate and use tools and equipment.
• Proactive, staying a step ahead of the group on safety and environmental hazards.
• Responsible for reviewing and meeting all state and federal safety standard requirements for record-keeping.

REQUIREMENTS
• Graduate of any 4-year course but preferably Engineering courses.
• With 1-4 years of experience in industry as Safety Officer.
• Preferably DOLE Accredited Safety Practitioner.
• Have taken at least 1 seminar from SOPI or OSHC preferably on the following: Occupational Safety and Health, COSH, BOSH, Loss Control Management, Construction Safety, Construction Safety Programming, First Aid, Disaster Preparedness Training or related topics.
• Has a good leadership & communication skill.
• Proficient in MS-Office Application
• Applicants must be willing to be assigned in Provincial areas within Luzon
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing, including preparation of business letter and reports.
