Network Engineer Level 2

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of the LEVEL 2 Network Operation Centre (NOC) Engineer is to work on and resolve identified complex network issues affecting service stability and reliability on all services running on the IXS Regional Network. He/ She communicates and serves as the second level support for IXS customers in any escalated network service issue. The Level 2 NOC Engineer should display advance knowledge on networking technologies and how this can be applied to resolving issues or improving performance levels of IXS products and services. He/ She should be able to effectively communicate and work with various IXS internal teams; and be able to communicate with internal and external clients from a non-technical background. He/ She should possess mentoring skills towards NOC Engineers to facilitate knowledge advancement.


Qualifications:

1. College degree holder (Preferably IT related course)
2. Minimum of 3 years IT experience, preferably in service provider industry.
3. Minimum 3 years hands-on experience on networking technologies (TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, etc.)
4. Experience with routing protocols – BGP, OSPF, EIGRP.
5. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
6. Good Analytical and Troubleshooting skills
7. Capable of prioritizing and managing own workload.
8. Tech Savvy - keen and resourceful in developing technical skills and knowledge.
9. With good analytical skills and data interpretation from various network platforms.
10. Ability to assess and prioritise faults and respond or escalate accordingly.
