Role:
The General Manager will need to demonstrate the ability to conceptualize and provide direction; develop and maintain a service excellence standard; create, execute and achieve financial goals on an on-going basis; develop, implement and monitor marketing strategies to bolster revenues in a global market; foster collaborative relationship with government, organizations and community; oversee maintenance and quality standards of the resort's landscaping and buildings; recruit, motivate and develop predominantly untrained staff in a positive work environment.
Scope of this position

I. ADMINISTRATION
1. Perform administrative duties including: reading and writing reports and memorandums and communicating with guests, managers, corporate office, local associations, etc. in various forms of communication.
2. Critically review reports of occupancy, revenue etc.
3. Formulate complex reports.
II. REVENUE
1. Manage the operations of the hotel to maximize the profitable growth of the business and ensure service and product quality to maintain and enhance the integrity of the hotel.
2. Oversee the operation of the hotel to ensure the revenues and profits are maximized, consistent with budgets and business plans.
3. Ensure that overall hotel revenues are maximized by anticipating and planning for market shifts, developing and monitoring strategic marketing prospects.
4. Monitor cost control, property condition, cleanliness and quality of product and service throughout hotel.
III. SALES & MARKETING
1. In concert with the overall Warwick Hotels and Resorts Fiji Sales and Marketing strategy, develop, implement and monitor annual business and marketing plans and participate in appropriate national marketing efforts.
2. Ensure that both broad-based and targeted marketing and yield management efforts are in place to achieve the goals for each individual market segment to diversify the sources of revenue.
IV. GUESTS & PUBLIC RELATIONS
1. Maintain visibility with guests and key community contacts to ensure guest satisfaction and a visible presence in the local community.
2. Oversee the quality process to ensure customer satisfaction by consistent delivery of both product quality and service in accordance with hotel's profitability goals.
3. Greet and maintain rapport with associates and customers.
V. MANAGEMENT
1. Create and maintain customer-driven hotel with a customer-keeping vision that inspires the hotel associates to do their best.
2. Ensure a cross-trained and motivated employee workforce capable of meeting current and future staffing needs and delivering guest services according to quality standards.
3. Ensure a strong employee culture through the direction, development and support of employees and employee-oriented programs.
4. Provide leadership to the departments to achieve their goals and objectives.
5. Communicate the goals and objectives and inspire employees to achieve those goals.
6. Ability to sell concepts and ideas to management, peers, and employees.

13. Interview, hire supervise and counsel department managers in the efficient operation of their respective area(s).
14. Meet with, develop and delegate improvement plans for operation and review performance of management team.
15. Interview, hire, train, recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication and approve discipline and all terminations.
16. Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff.
V. OTHER
1. Understand basic asset management.
2. Ensure that product quality standards are met as they relate to landscaping, decorations, levels of maintenance, cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in all areas of the resort.
3. Ensure the assets of the hotel and the brand name are maintained through the development and recommendation of annual business and capital plans.
4. Physically tour and visually inspect property on a daily basis.
5. Appropriately handle associate issues in conjunction with Human Resources in line with Company polices.
6. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
7. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
