JOB OVERVIEW

Kamusta,

I'm an Australian developer and I'm on the lookout for an excellent web developer who has spent a lot of time writing custom code for WordPress. You'll be assisting me with many different types of projects and I'm happy to invest in furthering your knowledge and skillset along the way.

You need to be familiar and comfortable with the following:

- Custom WordPress theme development
- Custom WordPress plugin development
- Object-oriented PHP
- JavaScript (jQuery & Vue.js)
- Git
- Scss

I will only be accepting applicants who meet the following requirements:

- You are an individual developer and are not representing a company
- You are based in the Philippines (this is important for work hours and communication)
- You have at least 4 years of experience in web development
- Your primary focus is on WordPress development
- You have great communication skills (English)
- You have several code repositories you can share to show me the quality of your work
- You have at least 5 examples of WordPress sites that you have built from scratch (boilerplates are fine, but no off-the-shelf themes, please)

You will be responsible for:

- Building custom themes and plugins
- Building simple sites using the Oxygen and Elementor page builders
- Maintaining existing WordPress sites
- Handling support-related tasks
- Prototyping product ideas
- Testing updates to existing plugins that I currently maintain

If you have experience working with Laravel then you have an advantage. Realise, however, that the work we'll be doing is primarily WordPress-based.

IMPORTANT:

I'm not interested in seeing a large number of themes that you've customised/child-themed. I'm also not interested in seeing a bunch of sites you've built in Divi – Divi isn't something I work Upgrade to see actual infostead, I'm interested in developers who really know how to code themes and plugins from scratch and can prove their ability to do so. For this reason, I need to see code stored in Upgrade to see actual infote, there will be a test, so if you aren't comfortable working with code at a reasonably fast pace, this isn't the role for you.
