JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a dynamic website designer to join our growing team. Your role will be to update and maintain current websites, create UI wireframes and mockups using programmes such as Photoshop and Sketch, plus build websites using a range of HTML, CSS and JS frameworks which can be easily maintained in the future. We are looking for someone with experience developing on more than just Wordpress, as you’ll need to quickly adapt to the range of CMS’s our clients use and be able to develop on our prefered platform - MODx. If you have a strong portfolio, a good eye for design and can write strong, semantic code, then we’d love to hear from you! Essential skills
- Experience using Photoshop, Sketch or similar programme for creating wireframes
- Strong coding skills in HTML and CSS
- Good working knowledge of JS (even jQuery :D)
- A good understanding of how to build semantically strong websites using best practices
- Basic working knowledge of optimising a website for search engines (SEO)
- Good communication skills
- Ability to read and write in English
- Working knowledge of CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap, Foundation 5, Kube etc
- Good time management skills


Desirable skills
- Knowledge of PHP
- Knowledge of MODx CMS
- Strong portfolio
- Ability to use Illustrator (or similar programme) /for SVG graphics
- Experience using SCSS/ SASS
- Experience using package managers i.e. bower
- Experience using GIT/ SVN for version control
- Strong working knowledge of design practices and coding standards
