I’m looking for a designer to work with me on a variety of ongoing website-related projects, as part of my web design/development agency team. I want you to have your finger on the pulse in terms of the latest 2019 trends - designs that look like they arrived in a time machine from 2005 just won't do :)
For the time being the work would be on a part-time basis but there would be scope to move to a full-time basis if things go
* Researching awesome design references for a project and preparing them to be added to a mood board, as part of the initial design consultation process for a client.
* Website mockups / designs (in layered format), to be passed onto a WordPress developer (these might be designs from scratch for brand new websites, or creative design revamps of existing websites).
* Logo designs in vector format.
* Creating style guides which document the existing design rules for a website (e.g. colour palette used on the existing site, hex codes of buttons on/off hover, underline / hover rules for links etc) and then defining the updated style guide to be used by the developer for the new / revamped website.
* Website designs specifically for mobile and tablet layouts, in addition to desktop.
* Mockups of individual new features / functionality that are going to be added to a website (rather than mockups of entire pages) - e.g. a design for a new advanced search interface within a website.
* Projects might sometimes involve designing full UX workflows e.g. design a home page > design a search / filter page and how all the filters should behave when selected etc > design a results page > design the page seen after clicking on a result,
As part of your application, I’d really like to get a feel for your taste in design to see if we’re on the same wavelength. Please could you: 1) Tell me 3 websites you tend to pay attention to for market-leading / cutting-edge website design ideas & inspiration; 2) Give me links to 3 websites which all have significantly different styles and you think all look awesome (you don’t have to have designed them yourself), and tell me why you think that; 3) Show me 3 of your own absolute best designs (which should ideally all be different styles), and tell me what it is about them that you’re particularly happy with.
I’d also like you to answer a couple of additional questions: 4) Do you have any interest in green business / sustainability / eco-friendly lifestyles? If so, please tell me about an example of how you’ve demonstrated this. 5) What do you feel are your best and worst personal qualities?
Big thanks in advance and looking forward to seeing your responses!
