JOB OVERVIEW

The MTG News/List Writer is expected to write news and lists on our U.S. based website daily. This a contractor half-time position (20 hours per week). We require a person with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and conforming to our news policies and standards. This is a work from home online-based job. Reliable internet access and computer requires.

We have a part-time position available and schedules are flexible. The writer is expected to complete a specific number of articles each day before a deadline. Our news writers are expected to work at a reasonable pace and writer professionally. You will be paid bi-weekly for your works.

Job Duties include:

Write 4 MTG articles per day Monday through Friday (400-word minimum)
Write 2 MTG list articles per Week
Select relevant cover images for articles that meet our policy requirements
Publish completed articles to the site and share to social media pages
Share previously completed list articles and other content to social media pages
Report to the Managing Editor


The Ideal Candidate we're looking for should have:

> Passion for Magic: the Gathering
> A bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, creative writing, marketing or related field
> 1-3 years of experience writing content in some manner (blogging, news writing, etc…)
> Excellent English grammar, spelling, and copywriting skills
> Self-motivated and positive attitude
> Ability to give feedback and communicate effectively
> Reliable Internet connection and computer access to work online
> Proficient with word processing and spreadsheet management
> Basic image editing skills. Photoshop experience a plus.
> Availability to work hours specified and occasional later hours on weekend (for special Weekend event coverage)
