I'm the creator of WP2Static, a WordPress plugin with both free and premium versions.
As a (currently) solo-developer, I'm looking to offload some of my tasks, to speed up development.
This job is for full regression-testing of new builds of the plugin.
What you'll need to have:
- a passion for breaking things
- an understanding of how the internet works (http headers, responses, webserver logs)
- a computer at home (Windows, Linux, BSD or Mac)
- internet connection (some tasks possible offline)
- some screen recording software for verification of happy/sad paths
- basic UNIX command line skills (tail, cat, vi, git, ssh, scp, mysql)
- enough written English for communicating via chat (speaking ability not required)
What you'll be doing:
- receiving the latest build
- setting up test environments (LAMP, LEMP, MAMP, Local by FlyWheel, XAMPP, remote servers)
- following a regression test plan (provided)
- recording successes/failures in test management tool (including screen recording for some)
How we'll communicate:
- Slack
- GitHub Issues
This is a per-release task and the test plan may be divided among multiple workers.
How to apply / how I'll select candidates:
- show me some evidence that you understand what my plugin does
- give examples of times you've used the required skill listed above
That's it! I don't discriminate on your location, gender, sexual orientation or professional experience. If you're new to the workforce, but have these skills for your own hobbies, that's
