Copywriter for Jewelry E-Commerce Product Listings

JOB DESCRIPTION
Our e-commerce division is looking for a PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME Copywriter who can write compelling product descriptions for product listings for Jewelry items, so our clients can sell these products on ---------- . There are 4 specific tasks that our Copywriter may perform; the first 3 below are related to product listing batches. Each client gives us product listings to work on in batches, with each batch in an Excel spreadsheet; for each product, the spreadsheet lists all the facts and quality specifications about each item to be listed.

• PRODUCT LISTING COPYWRITING: Using the product specifications in the Batch spreadsheet, and referencing the product images online in Dropbox and the boilerplate copy, write title, bullets, and product descriptions for all products. (We provide boilerplate copy for 4 out of the 5 bullets that the Copywriter typically only has to copy and paste, while the title, bullet 1 (and sometimes bullet 2), and the product description need original copy to be written.) Assign appropriate keywords for each item’s product type, gift-giving occasions, product design details and theme, and assign some generic keyword metadata. Write product titles according to a standard prescribed format. Pay attention to SEO principles to use synonyms instead of repeated words whenever possible. Double check for errors by copying & pasting copy into Word and looking for issues and make final corrections.

• PRODUCT LISTING COPY & KEYWORD PROOFREADING: Read the product title, bullets and product description and ensure that it makes sense, maximizes SEO, and is free from spelling, grammar and syntax errors. Double check for errors by copying & pasting copy into Word and looking for issues. Double check that keywords are populated as accurately and completely as possible. Make copy and keyword corrections to the batch Excel file as needed.

• PRODUCT LISTING POST-PUBLICATION COPY QUALITY ASSURANCE: Look up each product in the batch after the listings have been published to Amazon and are live on the site. Read the title, bullets and product description to check for errors in spelling, grammar and syntax, and make corrections in the batch Excel file as needed. Also double-check that the title, bullets and product descriptions’ references to product specifications match the Product Specifications; research any discrepancies and make copy corrections to the batch Excel file as ---------- eck all product titles in Seller Central to check for errors and correct in the batch Excel file as needed.

• BRAND STOREFRONT AND ENHANCED BRAND CONTENT COPYWRITING: Write copy blurbs for Enhanced Brand Content and Brand Storefronts as needed.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have...
• Excellent, fully fluent, editor-level American English language skills
• The ability to write copy to convey a specific voice or mood
• Experience writing about jewelry, accessories or fashion for catalogs, magazines, blogs, or e-commerce sites
• Experience with and knowledge of Jewelry, and an understanding of how to describe jewelry materials and design details
• An understanding of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and how to write copy that will increase chances of the customer finding it through Amazon's Search function, and that will increase Search rank within Amazon and search engines like Google, Yahoo! and Bing
• Perfectionist in his or her attention to detail, to be able to spot and correct spelling, grammar and syntax errors and other discrepancies
• Experience using Google Drive, Dropbox and other online file storage tools
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel, including facility with Excel filters and formulas
• Ability to read instructions in English, and quickly learn requirements and standards for writing product listings
• Ability to accurately estimate time needed to complete tasks
• Reliability to meet deadlines
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks as priorities shift, while still meeting deadlines
• Ability to estimate when a deadline is not possible to meet, and to let your managers know with several days’ advance notice
• Proactive communication with managers about any needs, roadblocks or issues with meeting deadlines
• Ability to track and report hours by job/client

PAY STRUCTURE
This job does NOT pay hourly or a salary -- it pays based on the number of product listings you write. If there are spelling or grammar errors in your work, we will send the listings back to you for correction. The more efficient and accurate you are, the more potential you have to earn! If you have truly excellent English skills and learn quickly, there is a LOT of earning potential -- but if you don't, this job is likely to be very frustrating (for both you and us!).

We will pay you by wire transfer monthly.
