Sourcing Land-Google Maps

Overview

We are looking for sites that have development potential i.e. property which seems to be under developed or could be converted.

This can be a blank bit of land, a smaller building set amongst larger/taller buildings or even a large commercial property that looks like it could be converted to residential. This short list is not exhaustive, and you should save any sites that you think has potential and we can discuss them together.

How to start targeting

I have previously suggested you use Yellow Pages online to start your searches and have since found it more effective to search for businesses on Google Maps:

Step one:

Google Search business types within your target areas that you feel may have development potential. I have found the below searches to be useful, but this is not exhaustive;
• MOT Garage
• Car Wash
• Car Dealer
• Tyre Shop
• Independent Petrol Stations (No BP garages etc)
• Tile Stores
• Furniture stores
