Senior Application Developer

We are looking for a developer responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements into the application. Therefore, proficiency on front-end technologies is definitely a plus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby Code
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
• Responsible for coordinating and participating in all facets of Desktop and Web Application design, development, maintenance, upgrades, quality assurance and compliance with established company standards.
• Actively work and collaborate with the technical team (other IT specialists), internal clients, and management to design and drive both strategic and tactical initiatives to meet company objectives.
• As needed, take a lead role in various build and application initiatives of the Company for Proof-of-Concept (POC) and Pilot system as planned.
Preferred Skills:
• Candidate must possess a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or IT-related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience and be very proficient in Ruby on Rails.
• Candidate must be a good communicator (read, write, listen, speak) and capable of explaining technical issues to non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated and flexible to changing work schedules (including graveyard shift)
• Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances.
• A knack for writing clean, readable Ruby code.
• Ability to integrate multiple data sources and database into one system
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (e.g. Git or SVN)
• Must have a wide range of experience in testing, performance tuning and optimization, covering the full spectrum of the system/application
