JOB OVERVIEW

Hi - we’re an 12-person marketing agency looking for an awesome writer to join our company family on a permanent, full-time basis for fair pay. Please read this entire job description CAREFULLY.

You’ll write for a variety of clients, writing a range of types of pieces. You’ll be creating original writing (not paraphrasing other work) that matches each client’s voice - which varies from very professional to full of zany attitude.

You’ll work with our marketing director, creative director, brand strategist, account managers, and other team team members. While some content may be for SEO, the vast majority will not be. To be considered, please tell us what your favorite food is in your reply.

We typically create content on a wide range of topics including marketing, building materials (bricks and stone), sales, heating / air conditioning service, logistics / trucking, plumbing, and lumber. The content requires learning about the clients’ industries, but isn’t overly technical.

Each week will vary the clients and type of work. You’ll be eased into clients one at time. You’ll be doing your writing in Google Docs to improve collaboration and feedback.

Typical tasks will include:
- Researching and writing white papers, eBooks, buying guides, etc of 1,000 to 2,500 words on various topics, tailored to specific audiences - since this is the most complicated part of the job, you are given plenty of time, guidance, and feedback to succeed
- Finding, submitting for approval, and curating articles on topics relevant to client industries
- Researching and creating proposed piece outlines, based on a creative brief, a topic / title, and several bullet points
- Creating social media posts and / or calendars
- Locating and submitting pictures (from provided sources) for posts and whitepapers
- Writing content for emails, ads, or landing pages as needed
- Creating appropriate website copy, or revising existing content to be customer centric

Requirements include:
- Excellent written English
- Several years experience writing (B2B is a plus)
- Ability to research and write original pieces
- Skill in matching a range of client voices and styles
- Ability to write semi-technical pieces, given enough exposure and research
- Writing that is relevant, useful, and informative to audiences

Pay is fair and negotiable, depending on experience. Work hours are flexible, as long as we can skype if needed during your evening and our morning.
