Node.js Developer (Home Based)

We're a 'start-up' that's a couple of years old now, growing organically over that time. We have a few services in the market, with more in the pipeline, and now it's time to crank up the growth and take the business to its potential by improving the products we have, and broadening the scope of our products to build new platforms and market share.

Mission

The mission for this role is to develop a fast and scalable/secure application for the business and our clients. You will also assist with developing and documenting requirements and test plans and contribute innovative ideas to be developed across a number of projects. You will be able to influence direction and recommend best practice to best deliver business needs. This role is also responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the ---------- petencies

Skills and Experience

We are seeking for a talented Node.js Developer for our back-end application that ensures server scalability, reliability and security, and data protection.
- Relevant experience with Node.js, NoSQL database and code versioning tools, such as Git
Scalable Application
- Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
- DevOps skills would of advantage such as scripting, containers, load balancers, docker
- Experience in clustering and monitoring of servers and Node servers
- Develop scalable and robust core system and micro-services
- Experience in design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications is a plus
- Drive enhancements, optimize performance, and troubleshoot defects for core business applications
Work directly with technology lead in implementing company initiatives
- Excellent knowledge of software engineering best practices (e.g., software development, test driven development, unit testing, code reviews, design documentation)
- Customer focused. Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment interacting with multiple clients efficiently and able to provide live support for bug/issue fixes while maintaining a professional and friendly approach
- Analytical skills. Able to structure and process qualitative or quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions from it. Exhibits a probing mind and achieves penetrating insights.

Additional Information

- Compensation package commensurate with previous work experiences
- Participate in employee performance bonus and incentive scheme.
- Work 8 am to 5 pm Philippines time, Monday to Friday (earlier start and finish times can be proposed)
- Work from home - you must have a reliable PC/Laptop and internet connection, and place where you can work uninterrupted.
