Website Front End and Back End Development

Permanent Part Time Position ~25 hrs per week

Multiple Websites

1st Website (90% of first 6 months work):

Front End: Redevelop current website into Wordpress (or similar environment). Wordpress is selected as this website will have many specific areas that end user can direct post content. Wordpress has built in admin management for user posting/authoring of content. Once basic format and user post permissions setup, several other functions will be integrated. Format needs to support both PC and mobile browsers. Most users are using mobiles to connect with the ---------- ont end has PHP elements in it, mostly in the advertising banners - a mobile version of existing advertising system will be required.

Back End: PHP Ongoing Work to Update current Registration System and other back end modules (accessed by users via secure login dashboard). Registration module needs modernization (originally written in 2008, was maintained & updated annually since). A move to a forms based approach and optimize layout for mobile platforms - this module has a small number of regular & unfixed bugs that originate from the JSQuery library that was originally used. Reconfigure payment module (migration from Paypal to Moneris). The Back End is heavily involved with interfacing with MySQL dbases.

Availability:

Must be available and working either 8pm-midnight or 7am to 11am (approx). This is the cross over time for communication and working together.

Ability to debug own code (this means ability to test logically and completely. We have over 10 years of experience with subcontract foreign coders and this is the most common issue that occurs, coders do not adequately test code).

Experience:

Minimum 2 years working programming experience (university projects do not count unless you were a member of faculty).
