I’m looking for an experienced t-shirt designer for a Print on Demand Shopify Business.
How this will work, is I will ‘hire’ 3 candidates on a probation period of 30 days, where you will bring my ideas to life, and I will test it on the market and see which designs will sell.
You will be paid 200 CAD during this 30 day probation period. One person will come out of the probation period and will be paid $500 USD (30,000 PHP) to be my full-time designer, and I may also hire a part-time designer for $300 USD (15,000 PHP).
If you produce me with designs that take off, I could pay you as high as $1000 USD! (55,000 PHP)
My ideal designer:
1. Makes designs that not only look good but sell well. How you get chosen as my full-time or even part-time designer is you create designs that sell well. I believe in good karma, so if you make me money, I will make you money.
2. Experience with Shopify clients or Print on Demand platforms
3. Experience turning Pinterest slogans into awesome designs that sell
4. Someone who prioritizes quality over quantity. Although I expect at least 5 designs per day, I rather you make 5 designs that sell than 10 designs that don’t.
5. Attention to detail (In order to ensure you are reading this entire job application, please start your application with the phrase “I love making t-shirts!”)
6. Someone who can think outside the box and work independently.
7. Someone who can work 5-6 days a week for full time, and 3-4 days for part-time.
8. Someone who is creative, and artistic.
9. Someone who is ambitious and hungry and will sacrifice short-term gains for long-term satisfaction.
10. Someone with Experience in Photoshop and Illustrator
What I’m going to do, is I will provide you with a certain slogan which you will take that slogan and turn it into 4-5 different designs: 2 will be minimalistic, 1 will be based on a design that sold in the past, and 2 will be designs I will leave up to your creativity to create.
Here are the qualifying questions you MUST answer to be considered for this application:
1. What techniques will you use to create a design that sells well?
2. Have you ever used Pinterest to look for inspiration for designs? What elements or changes would you add to a Pinterest slogan to make it sell?
3. Have you ever worked with Shopify or Print on Demand t-shirt designs?
4. What is the toughest design you ever had to make? How long did this design take? Was your client happy?
5. As a hiring manager, what do you think I am looking for in a graphic designer?
6. During the probation period, what are you going to do to separate yourself from the other candidates?
7. Are you looking for a part-time or full-time position?
8. How many days do you plan on working?
9. How many hours do you plan on working every day right now?
10. Please provide a compilation of ONLY t-shirt designs. I am looking to see text based designs, vectors, and effects with stock photos.
