JOB OVERVIEW
The ideal candidate will have strong technical SEO implementation and analytical skills. He or she will have a proven track record of creating, implementing and managing projects that have successfully driven business results for large clients with complex multi-brand structures.
Must be able to work US Hours 9 AM EST.- 5 PM EST. !
The SEO director will be responsible for end-to-end SEO management, including tactical execution, building site authority, identifying content and keyword opportunities, reporting, and analyzing insights.
The SEO Director should have an explicit opinion on how to plan content so it is congruent with overall brand goals (i.e. branding, information distribution) while also being a source of inbound traffic. He or she is expected to work directly with clients and lead calls concerning SEO projects. He or she will lead a small team of SEO managers and content specialists. He or she will also work closely with all internal teams account, insights, media and social to ensure all efforts are fully integrated. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills as the SEO director will be working in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and leading a small but eager team.
He or she must be experienced with how to demonstrate the value of SEO projects including experience building SEO dashboards and integrating SEO reporting into broader client reporting.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic counsel to clients, understand their business, and serve as their go-to thought leader on SEO and content opportunities
Develop and implement SEO campaigns, strategies and initiatives
Assist client teams in developing SEO strategies and programs that meet client business goals
Conduct natural search research
Conduct keyphrase research for organic search
Create client-bound research and execution documents
Research and implement linking strategies
Create monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports per client business specs
Conduct and implement multiple page-level optimizations per client business needs
Develop, manage and provide SEO-related reporting for clients and in-house management teams
Identify SEO opportunities on client websites
Identify and provide content based opportunities and strategies
Collaborate with client technical groups in order to implement proposed recommendations
Work with cross-functional departments to develop and track all details of SEO initiatives
Build and maintain project management processes that streamline SEO initiatives
Assist clients in building and understanding business goals in relation to content/SEO strategies and programs
Assist in developing combined strategies of SEO, SEM and Social Media
Be adept at explaining difficult concepts using simple language and graphics
Maintain expertise on search engine news and trends
Provide ongoing SEO training and education for team members and clients
All other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
More than four years of tactical and strategic experience in SEO with a minimum of two years on the agency side
Proven expertise in how SEO, SEM, Social and other forms of media can be integrated into a holistic marketing campaign
A passion for connecting queries to content and a commitment to making sure the clients’ relevant content is found by those who are looking for it
Demonstrated ability to build dashboards that clear articulate progress of SEO initiatives to clients.
Experience as an SEO copywriter with an understanding of how to write for both users and search engines at once
Excellent written/verbal communication skills
A strong working knowledge of leading web analytics and SEO tools
A proven record of page placement and website optimization
An enjoyment of problem solving and the ability to adapt to new technologies and processes
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Proactive self-starter qualities, with the ability to work independently, while collaborating with other departments
Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Flash
