Online Store Virtual Assistant

We are a startup Australian company that is trying to make a difference on this planet by changing peoples attitudes to what we consume and what waste we create.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has a passion for improving the way we all impact the Earth and other animals. Writes in English as if it was a first language and able to speak fluently. With a knowledge of Shopify and the finer arts of social media you will be a key member of our team.

The Online Store Virtual Assistant role is primarily to add products on to the online store website and to increase our social media and web presence through well written engaging original product descriptions and great product images.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Add new products to the website and writing engaging content in a style for millennials
• Using a photo editor such as photoshop resize high res images and upload onto Shopify
• Assist in maintaining the Shopify website
• Monitor applicable ethos aligned products and suggest items to stock in store and online
• Work with suppliers to ensure reseller details are correct and maximise back-linking
• Provide daily report by email of tasks completed and issues to be resolved

REQUIRED SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
• Advanced written English
• Engaging and competent writing skills with good spelling and grammar
• Able to bring together information from different sources to develop consistent product details
• Highly self-motivated, reliable, adaptable, keen attention to detail and a love of learning
• Friendly, approachable and helpful demeanour
• Veggie gardener, composter, passionate about reducing human impact on the earth

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong PC skills including proficient use of MS Office suite
• Experience in writing original content based on information from suppliers and your own web research
• Experienced with the Shopify e-commerce platform
• Experienced with social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, twitter

DESIRED EXPERIENCE
• Understanding of Permaculture Principles and Ethics
• Understanding of Orderhive inventory system
• Experience with e-commerce website design
• Familiar with Google tools such as Ad-words, Analytics, Search Console, Business
• Understanding of SEO techniques
• Blogging experience
• Qualifications in Social Media Marketing or equivalent experience

WORK HOURS
• Initially up to 20 hours per week with the potential for this role to grow further and taking on a greater role in social media and SEO if skills suit.
