Transcription

I am an employer in the USA looking for a skilled and dedicated person to do part-time transcription from mp3 audio recordings into Word documents.


Please ONLY respond if you are a skilled transcriptionist who has already been employed to do transcriptions. Please answer the questions below in your email to me. Applications will not be considered unless all three questions are answered.


1) How long does it take you to transcribe one hour of audio recording in English?
2)Where and when have you worked as a transcriber?
3) What do you use to slow down the recording as you type?



EXCELLENT English skills in grammar, spelling and punctuation are required.


The recordings are mostly interviews I am conducting for a book I am writing. (They are not medical.) I ask for a high level of speed and accuracy.


I expect the job to be approximately 15-25 hours per week for the next 3-6 months, (possibly longer, especially if you possess the skills in the next paragraph).


If we work well together and you have the skills, over time the job may expand to include blog posts on Wordpress, social media posts through Hootsuite, creating and sending my online newsletter (using Constant Contact), and possibly article writing and posting. But right now the transcription is the most important thing.
