Writer for Blog

Hello,

I am the owner of an e-commerce website, and I am looking to hire a couple of writers to help build up my blog to attract more traffic.

The focus of the store is built around yoga, meditation, and Asian inspired art. These would be the topics that you would have to write about if hired.

Here are some example titles:

- The History of Chinese Calligraphy
- “X” Reasons You Should Practice Yoga
- How Buddhism Spread Throughout Asia

The ideal length of the blog post should be around 1,500 words. I understand that attention spans are getting shorter and shorter nowadays, but I don’t want to conform to that. I want my website to be the destination people go to dive deeply into a topic and really get value from it.

Doing research will be a big part of the job, since the articles will be original. I have a program through my school that allows me to check for plagiarism, so please don’t do it. If Google detects someone ripping off other people’s work, they can potentially delist that website from search results, so it is not worth it.

Initially this will not be a salaried position, I will pay per article. I am currently looking to hire 2-3 writers to deliver one article per week for $40. In a couple of months when traffic should start picking up, this will amount will increase.

$160 per month isn’t a lot, but each article should take only about 5-6 hours, so on a per hour basis, I think it is quite competitive, assuming you have an alternative source of income.

There will not be any sort of working hours required. As long as you deliver one thorough, high quality article per week, I don’t care what hours you work.

My basis for selection will strictly be on writing ability. If you do not have some sort of article I can read that you have written in the past, it is unlikely I will hire you.
