JOOMLA Developer

We are developing a comprehensive and interactive web community and web directory site and require the services of an experienced Joomla Developer to support the project. The work will happen in 2 phases with a modular approach taken to add on features and functionality to the website.

1. Phase I of Project

We are looking for support to configure and optimize the Joomla site to our specified requirements. A skeleton copy of the latest Joomla version has already been installed and we want someone to work with us to set it up to achieve what we want. E.g. setup of sections and categories, modules and extensions, templates and tweaks.

A more detailed technical specification is to be provided covering the features and functionality needed during this phase of the project.

The key features and functionality from a Joomla perspective in this phase of the project will be:

• A context and region sensitive Web directory with static content structured within at least 9 categories/channels.
  
• A context and region sensitive business directory where listed businesses pay a monthly subscription fee.
  
• A context sensitive ad management system that can serve and keep track of various forms of advertising for different profiles and contexts.

As part of phase I of this project, we also require a Custom Joomla Template to be designed.

The Joomla template must be identical in look and feel to our in-house Wordpress theme. We will be using a network of WordPress blogs to supplement the content on the Joomla site, and we require that the custom template mirror the WordPress theme.

2. Phase II of Project

The second phase to this project will only commence after the features and functionality required for the first phase are to our satisfaction. Developers should bear in mind the continuity needed to link the features and functionality of this phase while working on the features and functionality of phase I.

Feedback from users within phase I of the project may also be used to enhance the features in phase II. A more detailed technical specification and existing examples of features required will be provided.

The features and functionality in phase II of the project include:

• A powerful internal search engine That yields relevant region and context sensitive results
  
• A region and context sensitive product and service comparison tool allowing visitors to easily compare what different competitors offer e.g. as done in price comparison websites for financial products.
  
• A market place built to facilitate exchange of goods and services within the target community, and specifically to take advantage of the limited money exchange systems available within the region.
