Who Are We?
We are a digital marketing and software company based in London, UK.
We are web based and communicate with our customers mainly through websites, PDF reports, Facebook and email. Our brand image is “fun, young, professional but full of personality” and we are looking for someone to help us portray that visually in everything we do.
The winning applicant must be able to work fast and to deadlines (as some projects will be more important than others, you may only be given an hour to do one project whilst you might work a couple of days on a more important project so you have to be able to factor this into your design process).
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone very artistic and imaginative. You will be the sole graphic designer in our company so you will have a broad spectrum of projects to work on. Anything from layout to cartoon/caricatures and everything in-between.
You will be given a lot of freedom with the projects so design briefs will be more about the atmosphere we are trying to create rather than specific details (although more specific design briefs may be included).
Essential Skills Needed
- Good English communication skills
- Good time management
- Digital Drawing skills (those done on a computer rather than hand drawn and scanned)
- Layout design (everything from PDF Reports to Webpages. You don’t need any CSS or webpage knowledge. Just a good artistic eye)
- Image photoshopping
- Advanced Font/Text effects
- Etc.
Essential Requirements
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Skype (capable of voice and video chat)
Interested Applicants
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys artistic design and our plan is to turn this position into our company’s Artistic Director when we are satisfied that we have a good working relationship and that our efforts to communicate our brand visually are paying off. A promotion to Artistic Director will come with an increased salary and benefits on top.
If you are interested in this position the next step is to apply and include answers to these questions in your covering letter:
1) What artistic experience do you have?
2) Who is you favourite artist currently (this can be the stylings of a particular comic, an animated TV programme/film or anything that you favour the most).
3) Are you available for a full-time position (35-40hrs a week)?
4) What is your desired starting salary?
5) What makes you perfect for this position? (3-5 sentences only)
Please include your design Portfolio and any further details that you would like.
PLEASE NOTE: Successful stage 1 applicants will be required to arrange a Skype interview and the last few applicants will have to take part in a timed test (you will be compensated for your time). The Winning applicant will then be on a 2 week rolling trial (so 2 weeks notice of leave will be given) which will increase to 1 month’s notice after 3 months.
Job applications can be sent to: jobs@nicheexperiments.com
We look forward to working with you.
All the best,
Pete
