I'm looking for a Personal Assistant to help manage an online business community that's blowing up too quickly for me to keep up with on my own. Whoever is hired into this position will learn A LOT about internet marketing/online business.
Before reading any further, please note:
I've hired out of the Philippines several times now, and I **LOVE** some of my team members. I've also hired several... lackluster team members who expected to work inconsistently (some weeks 5 hours, some weeks 20, some weeks not at all!) and made A LOT of excuses.
I'm VERY compassionate and understanding in the case of true emergencies or challenges — sometimes life throws us a curveball! And I NEVER micromanage my team members. My expectation is to train you, set you up for success every way that I can, and to get out of your way and let you do your job!
But if you can't consistently hit 35-40 hours per week, for whatever reason, please do not apply to this position. The moment I notice a pattern of inconsistent work hours attempting to be covered with false excuses, I will unfortunately have to terminate your employment with my company.
Hopefully that hasn't scared you off! Despite the serious tone above to disqualify the "bad apples", any one of my current or past team members would tell you that I'm a really easy person to work for!

What you can expect from me if you're chosen for this position:

1) I won't be peeking over your shoulder 24/7. I'll train you, move out of your way, and be around ANY time you need me or if you have questions.
2) I will personally train you to do everything I request. You'll never be given a task that I haven't already thoroughly explored and figured out how to execute efficiently.
3) With the exception of team members that make too many excuses for low-quality/inconsistent work, I'm VERY understanding of you needing to move your hours around here and there, as long as the quality of work isn't being sacrificed.

Description of work

I have a free online business community that's exploding with growth, and I just can't keep up. The Personal Assistant hired for this job will be required to:
1) Moderate the

This will need done at least 2x per day. If this doesn't make sense as you read it, don't worry, it's very straightforward and I'll teach you exactly how to do it in the training. You do not need ANY online business knowledge when starting this position, because I will be answering everything, but you will be watching the video and typing these videos out (hence how you're going to learn so much about online business!)
5) Eventually, once you get the hang of the
6) In your spare hours, I'd like you to transcribe some of the video lessons in our community. I have thorough training on how I like transcriptions formatted and uploaded to the site, but ideally, you'll be able to figure out efficient transcription processes yourself or have prior experience.
If this all sounds like a lot, don't worry. We'll take it one little step at a time until you can manage it all — the most important thing when you start is tasks 1-4.

Required skills/resources for applying

1) Consistency and trustworthiness. Please do not apply if you can't deliver 35-40 high-quality hours per week, with very rare exceptions.
2) A VERY reliable high-speed internet connection. It will be required at all times for the work you'll be doing.
3) The ability to type at least 40-50 WPM. Anything below that won't be efficient enough for this position, unfortunately.
4) A willingness to use hour-tracking software like Hubstaff. I'll be honest, I only check this when I run payroll or when a team member's productivity seems low. I don't obsess over these screenshots or even check them, usually, but I need to have them to process payroll, and to check if productivity ever seems low.
5) Excellent spoken AND written English, and the ability to be comfortable recording audio messages to strangers in English (as mentioned above, I will provide a script for this)
6) An overall commitment to doing the highest quality work you're capable of.

Preferred Skills/Attributes
==========
1) The harder your work ethic, the better!
2) It'd be great if you have some transcription experience, but if you can type quickly and are willing to research it/figure it out, that's fine by me!
3) It'd be great if you have a sense of humor and aren't offended by cursing. I don't curse all of the time, don't get me wrong! And I never curse AT my team members, even in the most frustrating circumstances. But if I'm being myself, and I'm being honest, I drop the occasional f-bomb :)

I know it may not SEEM like it, because I worked really hard to scare inconsistent and non-dependable performers off early in this job description, but I work VERY hard to be kind and understanding with my team members, and any one of my current or past team members would tell you that I'm REALLY easy to work for (as long as you're consistent and dependable).
