Bring your executive support skills to an organization that is inspiring today’s kids to be tomorrow’s inventors, entrepreneurs, and innovators.
We provide amazing interest-driven STEM programs to help kids move from being consumers to creators. We've been featured in major media such as Wired, CTV and the Globe and Mail, and have spoken at SXSW, Maker Faire, MakerCon, and more.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Your goal in this position is to provide support to MakerKids' CEO, Jennifer Turliuk, whose work has been featured in Forbes, the New York Times, and more. You’ll own a wide variety of tasks to support the CEO and the business to succeed.
Specifically, you will:
Manage the CEO’s business and personal calendar and appointments, as well as her
Keep the office well-stocked through online ordering; handle administrative tasks such as document management
Act as the CEO’s personal assistant, executing personal errands and tasks
HR duties such as scheduling staff, scheduling training, preparing training materials, liaising between staff, and ensuring policies are met
Operational support: shipping, ordering, ensuring a safe work environment
Liaise with customers over the phone and
Assist with a variety of office tasks such as bookkeeping, tracking information in spreadsheets, preparing research and reports, and implementing systems
You’ll excel in this role if you are quick and analytical, love taking care of details, and are fueled by the variety of a small, entrepreneurial organization.
If you’re learning-oriented, there will be almost limitless opportunities for you to take on new tasks and learn how an innovative business grows, from the ground up.
The Practical
This is a full-time role requiring flexible hours. Our business is somewhat seasonal, so your hours may be earlier or later in the day depending on the season.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Qualifications
Experience as a virtual assistant to an entrepreneur preferred
Experience or attraction to working in a high-growth, start-up environment
Ability to work varied schedules, according to seasonal needs
