Long Term Web Developer Needed.

We have an excellent client base both locally and internationally with a number of interesting projects and products in development. This is an opportunity to get involved in some top class work. The role involves the development, installation and support of proprietary bespoke web applications.

We are looking to build a long term relationship with the right employee.

CORE Technical Skills

PHP5
The developer will be proficient at PHP5, including the Object Oriented concepts provided by the language. Training will be given on the use of particular libraries that are available in the language as and when they are necessary.

SQL
The developer will be competent at writing efficient, sometimes complex, SQL queries that have multiple table joins and give recommendations as to Indexing that may now be required as a result of the SQL written. The SQL will be written with respect to the target database server of MySQL.

XML, XSL
The developer will have a basic understanding of the syntax of XML and be able to write valid XML documents, including an understanding of the purpose and use of XML namespaces. The developer will have a good understanding of the syntax of XSL and be able to write XSL style sheets competently, including a thorough understanding of XPath.

XHTML, JavaScript.
The developer will be experienced at hand written XHTML and have a good understanding of dynamic HTML concepts, including using libraries such as JQuery which we use to build most of websites.

Linux / Apache
The developer will have a good understanding of the Linux Operating System and Apache web services.

CORE Personal Skills
The programmer must be able to work consistently and professionally with high personal standards and must speak good English as well as have good English spelling skills with a proactive attitude to dealing with potential problems and mitigating incidents from repeating themselves.

Coding Standards
The programming should take care to write code with meaningful variable names, properly structured code, and appropriate use of software design patterns where necessary.

COMMUNICATION Skills
The programmer must have good communication skills and a good telephone manner as the role will involve speaking to clients or to other members of the team. Perfect English will be required.

You will be expected to answer/solve tickets raised from clients relating to the work which has been carried out.

-Providing support to the web development team as a whole
-Creating, maintaining and revising your own modular content

You will have:
-PHP

-Some exposure to social media platforms
-Good knowledge of web programming methodology (OOP and MVC)
-Excellent motivational / organisational skills
-Knowledge of CMS frameworks such as Wordpress, Drupal although training can be provided if necessary.
-Examples of your PHP work.
