Here's my list of Minimum Viable Product functionality that I think you should include in the
first version of this:
1. Ability for the user to sign up
• Using either:
• Their email address and password
• Facebook
• Have the user pick a username
• Have the user pick topics that they would like to follow
2. Ability for the user to post a new debate topic.
• This needs to have:
• A title
• Applicable topic(s) - can be more than one
• Some sort of media as the main content:
• Video
• Audio
• Text
• Image
• Also allow the user to direct this debate topic at a specific user, allowing them to
challenge that user to a debate
3. Ability for the user to browse debate topics:
• Allow scrolling up and down - let the user swipe left and right to either skip users or
engage in the debate topic
4. Ability for the user to post a response to a debate topic. This needs to have:
• Some sort of media as the main content:
• Video
• Audio
• Text
• Image
• Also allow users to reply to other user’s replies - this would create a sub-thread where
they can go off and potentially have a smaller & more focused debate
5. Ability for users to rate posts by other users
• This should be some sort of system to crowd-source information about the posts, so you
can help to sort out the negative/bad posts, and help the positive/good posts rise to the
top of the discussion.
• I'd suggest using some sort of Upvote/Downvote or Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down system
to start with
