SOCIAL MEDIA & CONTENT EDITOR

Job Summary

The Independent Contractor will manage and maintain all aspects of the company’s social media channel(s) to achieve customer engagement, website traffic and revenue goals, as well as be responsible for web content writing and product editing to ensure accurate product descriptions and information.

Responsibilities

Social Media Responsibilities
Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content, fan base, engagement and reach
Develop and grow website community through social media channels, such as, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest
Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections
Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules
Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices and act upon information
Collaborate with product and cruise department for promotions
Paid social media campaign management a plus!
Performs other duties as assigned or requested
Content Editor Responsibilities
Writing/creating accurate content for new pages and products, which may include writing brief descriptions of new cities and attractions
Responsible for locating, selecting, downloading, editing the digital images used for each product
Create/revise existing content to optimize search engine results ( SEO)
Communicate with vendors to ensure accurate information
Review and rewrite product descriptions as needed
Collaborate and work closely with colleagues on ongoing projects that may consist of very tight deadlines
Performs other duties as assigned or requested
Skills and Requirements

Social Media
1+ years of corporate social media or agency experience preferred
Experience with existing Social platforms and interest in emerging ones
Experience with influencer outreach programs
Understanding of Social Media activations (owned, paid, earned and amplification)
Must be able to read, track and report, social media data and metrics by utilizing analytical tools
Must be detail orientated, excellent writing and proofreading skills
Proactive self-starter with the ability to work well independently as well as in a team
Must have strong ability to set priorities, solve problems, and be resourceful under pressure
Content Editor
1-2 years’ experience as a writer/editor/copywriter for the travel, tourism and/or hospitality industries preferred
Detail-oriented
Excellent writing and proofreading skills
Proactive self-starter with the ability to work on their own and as a team
Strong ability to set priorities, solve problems and be resourceful under pressure
HTML and SEO knowledge also a plus
