We are seeking a highly skilled, reliable, and motivated Advanced Mathematics Tutor to join our team long-term. You will be working with Australian senior high school (and junior) students online, supporting their learning through interactive lessons (Zoom), School Assessed Coursework (SAC) preparation, and exam-solving strategies. Further, you will be creating engaging educational Reels/Shorts for Instagram and
Because you will be teaching the Australian VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) curriculum, you must possess a world-class grasp of calculus, advanced algebra, mechanics, and statistics.
Note: This is a long-term position. If you are prone to disappearing, ignoring texts, or taking on too many clients at once, please do not apply. We value open communication above all else. For a candidate who demonstrates exceptional teaching results, high client retention, and helps drive lead generation through social media, we offer an exclusive profit-sharing model paying out up to $100 AUD to $500 AUD+ per month as a performance bonus on top of your base pay.
Technical Curriculum Requirements
You must be highly proficient in teaching the following subjects (equivalent to advanced university-prep mathematics):
1. Mathematical Methods (Calculus, Functions & Probability)
Functions & Relations: Polynomial, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric, and piecewise functions.
Algebra & Graphing: Transformations, matrices, and graphing techniques.
Differential Calculus: Product/chain/quotient rules, optimization, and rates of change.
Integral Calculus: Indefinite and definite integrals, and area under curves.
Probability & Statistics: Discrete/continuous distributions, sample proportions, and confidence intervals.
2. Specialist Mathematics (Advanced Calculus, Mechanics & Proofs)
Advanced Algebra:
Complex numbers (polar form), vectors, and matrix transformations.
Trigonometry & Functions: Identities, 2D/3D applications, rational, and parametric functions.
Advanced Calculus: Differential equations and advanced integration techniques.
Mechanics (Physics-Math): Kinematics, forces, and motion in 2D/circular paths.
Proofs: Mathematical induction and formal logic.
3. General Mathematics (Applied Math)
Data analysis (statistics), financial modeling (recursion), networks, and decision maths.
Calculator Requirements (CRITICAL)
Australian students are heavily assessed on their ability to use advanced graphic calculators. You must be able to teach calculator shortcuts, graphing, and calculus functions on at least one (ideally both) of these systems:
TI-Nspire CX CAS
Casio ClassPad II
Hardware & Setup Requirements
A degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Secondary Education (Math major), or a highly quantitative field.
Flawless, charismatic English—both for teaching teenagers and engaging viewers on social media videos.
A digital writing tablet/stylus (e.g., Wacom, Huion, iPad) to draw equations smoothly on digital whiteboards (Zoom, Miro).
Reliable high-speed internet with a backup power solution.
Comfortable appearing on camera or producing high-quality screen-recordings for marketing content.
To prove you have high attention to detail and didn't just copy-paste your application, you must follow these instructions. Applications that do not follow these steps will be automatically deleted.
Change your application subject line to: "I Am Your Next Star VCE Math Tutor - [Your Name]"In your cover letter, answer these three questions:
Question A: Do you own a digital writing tablet/stylus for online whiteboard teaching?
Question B: Which calculator are you more comfortable teaching: the TI-Nspire CAS or the Casio ClassPad?
Question C: Solve this simple derivative mentally and write the final answer: What is the derivative of $f(x) = 3x^2 + 5x$?
Other Requirements
Education: A degree in Mathematics, Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Secondary Education (Math major), or a highly quantitative field.
Communication: Flawless written and spoken English. You must be able to explain abstract, complex concepts in simple terms.
Setup: A reliable, high-speed internet connection, a quiet workspace, a functioning webcam, and a digital writing tablet/stylus (for writing math equations on a digital whiteboard like Zoom or Miro).
Reliability: An explicit agreement that if you experience a power/internet outage, you will notify us via phone/Viber immediately.
