Hourly or Monthly Rate: $1000-$1750 per month
Schedule: 9am to 6pm Philippine Time
Years of Experience: 5+ years of experience in apparel production, sourcing, merchandising, or factory management.
Role Description:
We are seeking an experienced Production & Sourcing Manager to oversee apparel production across multiple factory partners in China.
This role is responsible for ensuring orders are produced on time, meet quality standards, and move efficiently from development through shipment. You will serve as the primary point of contact between our team and our manufacturing partners, managing production schedules, solving factory issues, coordinating logistics, and sourcing new suppliers when needed.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience working directly with apparel factories, understands garment construction and production processes, and is highly organized when managing multiple orders simultaneously.
Mandarin language skills are highly preferred but not required.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Production Management
- Own the production calendar from purchase order through shipment.
- Track all active orders across multiple factories and ensure milestones are met.
- Maintain accurate production timelines and proactively identify delays before they become issues.
- Hold factories accountable for deadlines and production commitments.
- Escalate timing risks and recommend solutions before customer deadlines are impacted.
2. Factory Communication
- Serve as the primary daily point of contact with factory partners primarily through WeChat.
- Follow up continuously on production status, materials, samples, and shipment readiness.
- Build strong relationships with factory management teams while maintaining accountability.
- Ensure factories clearly understand product specifications
- timelines and expectations.
3. Product Development & Sampling
- Review tech packs, specifications, measurements, materials, and construction details.
- Coordinate sample development from initial concept through production approval.
- Verify samples meet requirements before bulk production begins.
- Identify construction, fit, quality or manufacturing concerns early in the process.
4. Quality Control
- Monitor production quality across all active orders.
- Identify and resolve defects, workmanship concerns, material inconsistencies, and specification issues.
- Coordinate third-party inspections when necessary.
- Work with factories to implement corrective actions and prevent recurring issues.
5. Factory Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Research, identify, and qualify new factories for existing and future product categories.
- Request and evaluate factory capabilities, pricing, minimums, lead times, and quality standards.
- Build a network of reliable manufacturing partners.
- Assist with transitioning production away from underperforming suppliers when necessary.
6. Logistics & Shipping Coordination
- Coordinate production handoffs from factory completion through shipment.
- Ensure goods are properly inspected, packed, labeled, and prepared for export.
- Work with freight forwarders and logistics partners to maintain shipping schedules.
- Monitor shipment timelines and communicate delays or risks immediately.
7. Reporting & Operational Support
- Provide regular production status updates to leadership.
- Maintain clear visibility into what is on schedule, at risk, or delayed.
- Track factory performance metrics including on-time delivery, quality performance, and responsiveness.
- Recommend process improvements that improve speed, quality, and efficiency.
What We're Looking For:
This is not a coordinator role.
We're looking for someone who takes ownership, follows up relentlessly, solves problems independently, and keeps production moving without needing constant oversight.
The right candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable pushing factories for answers, and capable of managing dozens of active orders at the same time.
Role Qualifications:
- Mandarin language proficiency.
- Experience sourcing and onboarding new factories.
- Experience coordinating international freight and logistics.
- Experience working with custom apparel, embroidery, screen printing, and cut-and-sew manufacturing.
- Existing network of factory relationships in China.

- 5+ years of experience in apparel production, sourcing, merchandising, or factory management.
- Direct experience working with apparel factories in China.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, manufacturing processes, fabrics, trims, and quality control.
- Experience managing multiple production timelines simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
