Open Dental Data Migration — DentiMax to Open Dental Conversion

Kairos Dental Group (Anaheim & Los Angeles, California, USA) is converting two dental practice locations from DentiMax to Open Dental and needs someone with strong Open Dental experience to help with the data transfer.
This is a project-based, one-time engagement.
Scope of work:

Help transfer patient demographic, clinical, billing, and insurance data from DentiMax into Open Dental
Enter/import patient records, treatment history, and insurance info accurately
Check data for errors or missing information after transfer
Flag anything that doesn't transfer cleanly so it can be fixed
Provide progress updates throughout the project
Available for some follow-up support after go-live if issues come up

Required experience:

Solid hands-on experience working inside Open Dental (front desk, billing, or data entry — daily use is enough, doesn't need to be a "migration specialist")
Comfortable navigating Open Dental's patient charts, ledgers, and insurance modules
Detail-oriented — this is patient data, accuracy matters
Good written English for updates and documentation
Experience handling HIPAA/patient data appropriately

Nice to have:

Any prior exposure to DentiMax, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar dental software
General comfort with spreadsheets/Excel for data cleanup

Work setup:

Fully remote
Access via Splashtop (HIPAA-compliant, sessions monitored/logged)
Work covered by a signed Independent Contractor Agreement + NDA (PHI/HIPAA handling)
