About HQCheer
HQCheer (
Our lead reviewer is a 6× World Champion coach with 21+ years of experience across four continents. We support both All-Star and Scholastic programs.
We are a lean, fast-moving team. The platform is live and in active development. You will be stepping into a Creative Lead role with real ownership and real impact.
The Role
We are looking for a UI/UX Designer and Webflow Developer who also has firsthand experience in cheerleading — as an athlete, coach, former coach, gym owner, or cheer parent. This is not a nice-to-have. It is a requirement. We are building for a niche community and the person who designs for it needs to understand it from the inside.
As Creative Lead, you will:
Own design direction for every page and component before it goes to our developer
Produce screen designs, layout specs, and annotated handoffs that our Webflow developer can build directly from
QA every build against your design intent — you approve before anything ships
Collaborate with the CEO and co-founders on product decisions, user flows, and new feature UX
Maintain visual consistency across 18 dashboard screens, public pages, and mobile views
Understand the cheerleading world well enough to design for it — skill levels, athlete/coach/gym-owner differences, what matters to this community
What You Are Building
The platform is built in Webflow with Memberstack 2.0 for access gating, Airtable for relational data, Stripe for payments, and Make.com for automation. Our v4 design reference covers 18 screens:
Athlete, Parent, Coach, Gym Owner, and Pro Expert dashboards
Video Library with category + level filtering
Video Review submission flow ($20 athlete / $25 coach pay-per-review via Stripe)
Live Calls and Webinar pages
Coach Glossary, Manage Coaches, Teams (Scholastic/All-Star toggle)
Gym Billing, Parent My Children (circular skill rings), Parent Billing
Review Queue with SLA tracking, Gym Settings, Account Settings
Dark mode aesthetic. Brand purple #8B5CF6 gradient. Fonts: Aleo (headings), Outfit (body), Ubuntu (accents). This is a specific, locked visual system — you are refining and extending it, not reinventing it.
Requirements
Non-Negotiable
Cheerleading experience — athlete, coach, gym owner, or cheer parent. You must understand this world from the inside.
Proven UI/UX design portfolio with dark mode or sports/fitness platform work preferred
Webflow proficiency — you can build in Webflow, not just design for it
Reliable, consistent communication — daily updates, same-day blocker flags, no ghosting
Ability to hit deadlines. We work on two-week delivery cycles. Late is not acceptable.
Availability of 20–40 hours per week with some US Central Time overlap
Strongly Preferred
Experience designing membership platforms, gated content, or subscription-based apps
Familiarity with Memberstack, Airtable, or Make.com
Experience with dashboard design — complex role-based UIs with multiple user types
Mobile-first or responsive design experience
Ability to produce Loom walkthroughs or annotated spec docs for developer handoff
What We Offer
Real Creative Lead ownership — not spec execution, but design leadership
Long-term growth path for the right person — we build with people, not just hire them
Flexible remote work with async-first communication
A platform that is already live, already growing, and already matters in the cheer community
Direct collaboration with the founder team — no middle layers, no committees
What This Is Not
This is not a freelance design gig where you hand off mockups and disappear.
This is not a role for someone who needs hand-holding on technical decisions.
This is not suitable if you cannot commit to consistent weekly hours right now.
Cheerleading experience is not optional. We will not consider applications without it.
How to Apply
Send the following to
Your portfolio or 2–3 relevant work samples (links preferred)
A brief description of your cheerleading background — were you an athlete? A coach? For how long? What level?
Your Webflow experience — what have you built? Link to examples if available.
Your availability and time zone
Your hourly rate expectation
Applications without a cheerleading background described will not be reviewed. Please do not apply if you do not have direct experience in the sport.
