JOB OVERVIEW

I’m looking for a reliable and creative video editor for a growing faceless history YouTube channel.

The goal is simple: create engaging, high-quality history videos using strong visuals, clean storytelling, and animations that add to the content rather than distract from it.

The aesthetic I’m looking for is polished, professional, and thoughtfully crafted. This is not a “throw stock footage everywhere” type of channel, and I’m not interested in low-effort, template-driven edits. I want someone who takes pride in their work and wants to help build something long term.

The overall pacing should be cinematic and immersive rather than fast, flashy, or overloaded with effects. I will provide a reference video so you can understand the exact editing style I’m looking for.

What I’m Looking For

* High-quality animations that help explain historical events, battles, timelines, and concepts
* Motion graphics, maps, diagrams, and visual storytelling
* Cinematic movement on historical images, paintings, and photographs
* Smooth transitions and professional pacing
* Strong attention to detail and synchronization with voiceovers
* Appropriate background music and sound design that enhance the story (I have an Artlist subscription available if needed)
* Ability to source relevant public-domain footage, historical imagery, and supporting visuals when necessary

Examples of Skills That Stand Out

* Animated maps and troop movements
* Timeline animations
* Historical document and photograph animations
* Motion graphics that explain complex events clearly
* Clean typography and on-screen graphics
* Creative use of archival footage and public-domain material
* Documentary-style storytelling

Pay & Workflow

* Starting Pay: $65 USD per project
* Video Length: Typically 10–20 minutes
* Frequency: 1–2 videos per week
* Scripts, voiceovers, research, and creative direction are provided

Long-Term Opportunity

I am looking for a long-term editor, not a one-off freelancer.

Editors who consistently produce high-quality work, communicate well, and prove reliable will receive higher rates over time. My goal is to build a lasting working relationship and increase compensation as the channel grows.

The starting rate is $65 per project, but my goal is to move the right editor to $100+ per project as the channel becomes successful and we establish trust.

What I Provide

* Complete voiceover
* Complete script
* Research and source material
* Creative direction when needed
* Reference videos for editing style

How to Apply

1. Send a link to your portfolio or previous work.
2. Tell me what software you use (DaVinci Resolve preferred) and briefly describe the types of animations or motion graphics you create.
3. Start your application with the word “EDITOR” so I know you read the entire post.
4. Briefly describe any experience you have with YouTube content, history content, or documentary-style editing.

Note: Shortlisted candidates may be invited to complete a brief paid 60-second trial project.
