About the Opportunity:

OneSpot is seeking an experienced, patient, and engaging ESL Teacher / Tutor to work one-on-one with a recent high school graduate whose native language is Bisaya/Cebuano.

The student is highly motivated and is looking to improve their English skills for professional and workplace communication. The ultimate goal is to develop confidence in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English at a professional level and eventually achieve conversational fluency.

We are looking for a teacher who can effectively bridge the gap between Cebuano and English while providing a structured, proven learning experience.

This role may expand to more hours depending upon student's progress.

Student Profile

The Student:
* Is a recent high school graduate
* Is a native Bisaya/Cebuano speaker
* Has limited English comprehension and conversational ability
* Wants to improve English for employment opportunities

Responsibilities

The selected teacher will:
* Conduct live one-on-one online tutoring sessions
* Create an encouraging and supportive learning environment
* Teach practical American conversational English
* Teach professional workplace communication skills
* Improve listening comprehension
* Improve pronunciation and speaking confidence
* Teach grammar in a practical, easy-to-understand manner
* Help develop professional vocabulary
* Assign simple homework and practice exercises
* Track student progress and provide periodic feedback
* Adjust teaching methods based on the student's learning pace
* Encourage consistent English usage during sessions

Required Qualifications

Applicants MUST meet ALL of the following requirements:

Experience:
* Minimum of **4 years of ESL teaching or tutoring experience**
* Experience teaching beginner or low-intermediate English learners
* Experience teaching teenagers and/or young adults preferred

Education:
* College Degree required
* Education, English, Communication, Linguistics, or related degrees are preferred but not required

Language Requirements:
* Must be fluent in English
* Must be able to speak Bisaya/Cebuano fluently
* Must be comfortable explaining English concepts in Cebuano when necessary

Teaching System

Applicants MUST already have:
* A structured ESL curriculum
* A proven teaching methodology
* Lesson plans already developed
* Learning materials already available
* A clear progression system for beginner students

We are NOT seeking someone who intends to create lessons from scratch each week. We prefer a teacher who already has a tested program and can begin immediately.

* Experience teaching professional/business English
* Experience preparing students for employment opportunities
* Experience teaching American English pronunciation and conversational skills
