We are looking for a detail-oriented CPA, Enrolled Agent, accounting graduate, or experienced tax professional to support a growing U.S. tax and advisory practice.
This role will focus mainly on preparing U.S. individual income tax returns, organizing client documents, communicating with clients, and helping tax engagements move smoothly through the filing process.
The ideal candidate has experience preparing or assisting with U.S. individual tax returns and wants to continue building their tax knowledge while working closely with an experienced CPA.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Preparation
Prepare U.S. Individual Income Tax Returns, including Form 1040.
Review client tax documents for completeness and accuracy.
Organize electronic tax workpapers and client files.
Enter tax information accurately into tax preparation software.
Prepare returns involving W-2 income, interest and dividends, retirement income, Schedule C, Schedule E, and basic investment transactions.
Identify missing information and request additional documents.
Prepare completed returns for CPA review.
Assist with tax extensions and estimated tax payments.
Tax Workflow Support
Track tax returns through each stage of preparation and review.
Monitor tax deadlines and filing due dates.
Prepare tax organizers, engagement letters, and internal checklists.
Assist with electronic filing and filing authorizations.
Keep workflow systems and client records updated.
Client Communication
Follow up with clients regarding missing documents and information.
Answer general questions about the tax preparation process.
Schedule client appointments as needed.
Coordinate electronic signatures and filing authorizations.
Maintain clear, professional, and timely communication.
Administrative Support
Maintain organized electronic tax files.
Support the creation and improvement of tax procedures.
Assist with general administrative tasks related to the tax practice.
Help improve workflow efficiency and turnaround times.
Qualifications
CPA, Enrolled Agent, accounting degree, or equivalent tax preparation experience is preferred.
At least 1–3 years of experience preparing or assisting with U.S. Individual Income Tax Returns.
Basic understanding of U.S. individual income tax preparation.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple tax returns, projects, and deadlines.
Willingness to learn and grow within the role.

What Success Looks Like
Within the first 30 days, the successful candidate will learn the tax preparation workflow, become familiar with document organization standards, and begin preparing basic tax returns with guidance.
Within the first 60 days, the candidate should be able to prepare standard Form 1040 returns with minimal assistance, communicate with clients regarding missing information, and keep assigned returns moving through the workflow.
Within the first 90 days, the candidate should be able to independently prepare most standard individual tax returns for CPA review, consistently produce accurate and organized workpapers, and help improve overall tax workflow efficiency.
