Shopify Designer & Developer — Premium Pet Art Brand (AI-Savvy, Strong UI/UX)

About Us

Heritage Archive is a new direct-to-consumer brand selling premium, breed-specific line art prints for pet owners. Our aesthetic is heritage/archival — think Victorian naturalist illustration meets modern minimalist home décor. Cream, ink, and gold palette. Elegant serif typography. We're building a brand that feels timeless, not trendy, and we need a Shopify store that matches that quality bar.

What You'll Be Doing

Design and build a full Shopify storefront (homepage, collection pages, product pages, cart) with a smooth, premium feel
Translate our existing brand assets (colour palette, typography, line art) into a cohesive site design
Use AI tools (Midjourney, Nano Banana, ChatGPT/Claude, etc.) to help generate or refine lifestyle imagery, layout concepts, and content where needed.

Build responsive, mobile-first layouts with strong UX instincts — generous whitespace, smooth scroll, intentional typography
Set up product pages optimized for conversion (we'll be running Meta ads to this store)
Implement collections by animal/breed series with clean filtering and navigation
Work directly with the founder to iterate quickly — this is a fast-moving early-stage brand.

What We Need From You

A strong portfolio of Shopify stores you've designed or built — bonus points for art, home décor, or premium DTC brands
Comfortable with Shopify's Online Store 2.0, theme customization, and basic Liquid/HTML/CSS
Proficiency with AI tools for design, image generation, or content support — tell us specifically which tools you use and how
A genuine eye for typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy — we will ask you to critique our current site as part of the application.

Clean, premium, editorial design sensibility — if your past work looks templated or generic, this isn't the right fit
Strong written English and clear communication.

Nice to Have

Experience with art, jewelry, or other "high perceived value" DTC categories
Familiarity with Meta ad landing page best practices
Experience with apps like PageFly, GemPages, or Replo
