Research and design engineer

I am looking for a mid level engineer that can do both product research and part design (soldworks).

We are a small company that produces special marine tools. Looking for a highly organized and analytical engineer/tech. The first part of every tool design is defining the application. This requires searching online parts databases and creating spreadsheets for applications. Once we know the scope of the application, we can design a specific tool to suit. This data is then used to guide customers to the correct tool. I can not stress enough that organization and spreadsheet use is paramount. Also, a mechanical aptitude for visualizing and understanding mechanical systems is a must. You will need to understand mechanical systems and tools that you may never actually see.
