JOB OVERVIEW

Hiring DTC - ECOM CREATIVE STRATEGIST
Remote | Full-Time | Meta Ads Focus | Restricted Categories

About Growing Pains Marketing

Growing Pains Marketing is a performance marketing agency focused on scaling DTC eCommerce brands through paid social, creative strategy, and direct response advertising.

We specialize in Meta ads and work with brands in competitive and often restricted categories, including wellness, supplements, CBD-adjacent products, telemedicine, research compounds, and other markets where strong creative strategy, compliance awareness, and fast execution matter.

We are looking for a DTC eCommerce Creative Strategist who understands Meta ads inside and out, can turn research into strong creative briefs, and can help launch, monitor, and improve ad creative across multiple client accounts.

This is not just a “make pretty ads” role.

We need someone who can think strategically, understand customer psychology, study competitors, identify winning angles, write strong briefs, collaborate with designers/editors/UGC creators, and help us consistently produce ads that drive purchases.

Role Overview

As our Creative Strategist, you will be responsible for researching markets, developing creative angles, writing briefs, coordinating creative production, uploading/launching ads in Meta, and monitoring performance to identify what is working.

You should be comfortable working across multiple DTC eCommerce accounts and moving quickly without sacrificing strategy or quality.

You will work closely with media buyers, designers, video editors, UGC creators, and leadership to ensure each account has a strong pipeline of new creative.

Key Responsibilities:
Creative Strategy

Develop creative strategies for DTC eCommerce brands running Meta ads.

Research customer avatars, pain points, desires, objections, competitor positioning, reviews, Reddit threads, TikTok trends, Meta Ad Library, Amazon reviews, landing pages, and customer language.

Identify new hooks, angles, offers, formats, and messaging opportunities.

Create clear creative testing plans based on performance data and market research.

Understand direct response principles, buyer psychology, and how to structure ads that convert.

Creative Briefs

Write detailed creative briefs for designers, video editors, and UGC creators.

Include hooks, concepts, scripts, visual direction, claims/compliance notes, CTA, product positioning, and references.

Make sure briefs are specific enough that the creative team can execute without confusion.

Provide examples of winning ads, swipe files, and references when needed.

Meta Ads Execution

Upload, launch, and organize ads inside Meta Ads Manager.

Understand Meta campaign structure, ad sets, ad naming conventions, creative testing, and basic performance monitoring.

Know how to read creative performance inside Meta and identify winners, losers, and patterns.

Work with media buyers to understand what creative needs to be tested next.

Monitor active ads and help determine when creative needs to be paused, iterated, or scaled.

Creative Performance Analysis

Review ad performance by hook, angle, format, offer, product, audience, and creative type.

Identify why certain ads are working or not working.

Use performance data to inform future creative briefs.

Track winning patterns across accounts.

Help build a repeatable creative testing system.

Client-Facing Communication

Communicate clearly and professionally with clients when needed.

Present creative strategies, explain why certain angles are being tested, and provide updates on creative direction.

Strong written and spoken English is required.

You must be able to explain your thinking clearly on calls, in Slack, and in Loom videos.

Requirements

You must have experience with DTC eCommerce creative strategy.

You must understand Meta ads deeply, especially for purchase/conversion campaigns.

You must be able to upload, launch, and monitor ads inside Meta Ads Manager.

You must have excellent written and spoken English.

You must be comfortable recording Loom videos explaining your strategy.

You must be organized, fast, and able to manage multiple accounts.

You must be comfortable working with restricted or compliance-sensitive categories.

You must be available during some U.S. working hours. Between 6-9 am and 3-5 PM depending on your starting shift.

We are not hiring candidates located in North America, or citizens of North America for this role.
