Afford IT is a growing technology business providing practical, affordable and professional IT solutions for homes, and SOHO small businesses.

We are looking for an Advertising and Marketing Manager who can help us grow our visibility, generate leads and turn Afford IT into a recognised, trusted technology brand.

About the Role

This is a hands-on marketing, advertising and content creation role.

We are looking for someone who can plan, create, edit, publish and manage marketing campaigns across digital platforms. This role is not just about strategy. You must be comfortable producing content yourself, especially short-form video, UGC-style content, social media ads, reels, TikToks, testimonials, educational videos and practical IT advice content.

UGC, video editing and content creation are vital to this role.

A background in technical writing and a strong understanding of IT are also vital. You do not need to be a senior technician, but you must be able to understand technical concepts, ask the right questions, and turn IT topics into clear, simple, accurate and engaging marketing content.

Once the suitable candidate is settled into the Afford IT role, this position is expected to grow and incorporate marketing responsibilities across other related brands. This may include additional technology, cyber security, managed services, business advisory or specialist service brands connected to the wider business group.

This is an ideal role for someone who wants ownership, variety and the opportunity to help build multiple brands over time.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

* Developing and managing marketing campaigns for Afford IT
* Creating short-form video content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn
* Producing UGC-style content that feels authentic, practical and relatable
* Editing videos, reels, ads, testimonials and educational content
* Writing captions, hooks, scripts, headlines and ad copy
* Writing technical marketing content in plain English
* Turning IT concepts into simple, useful and accurate customer-facing content
* Planning and managing a content calendar
* Creating marketing assets for social media, email, website and paid advertising
* Managing paid advertising campaigns across platforms such as Meta, Google and LinkedIn
* Testing different ad creatives, hooks, offers and audiences
* Monitoring campaign performance and improving results over time
* Creating local area marketing campaigns
* Supporting SEO content, blog posts and website updates
* Helping generate leads for residential and small business IT services
* Creating before-and-after style content, explainer videos and client story content
* Repurposing long-form content into short-form clips
* Coordinating photography, filming or user-generated content where required
* Tracking marketing activity, leads, cost per lead and campaign performance
* Working with the Afford IT team to identify useful customer pain points and content ideas
* Gradually supporting marketing activity for other related brands once established in the role

Content Creation Requirements

This role requires strong hands-on content creation ability.

You must be able to create content that is clear, engaging and suitable for everyday consumers and small business owners. You must be able to make IT topics understandable without making them inaccurate or oversimplified.

You should be comfortable with:

* UGC-style video content
* Short-form social media videos
* Editing reels, TikToks and ad creatives
* Writing strong hooks and scripts
* Recording simple videos or coordinating video content
* Creating content that feels human, not overly polished or corporate
* Turning customer questions into educational content
* Creating trust-building content for local audiences
* Making IT services feel simple, approachable and valuable
* Writing technical content in plain English
* Explaining IT services, cyber security risks, device issues and technology problems clearly

This is a vital part of the role. Applicants who only have general marketing experience but no real content creation, UGC, video editing, technical writing or IT understanding will not be the right fit.

About You

You are creative, commercially minded and comfortable getting things done.

You understand that good marketing is not just about pretty graphics. It is about attention, trust, clarity and conversion. You know how to create content that people actually watch, and you are willing to test, improve and keep producing.

You also understand that marketing an IT business requires accuracy. You can take a technical topic and make it simple without making it misleading. You are comfortable learning about technology, cyber security, support services, devices, cloud systems and common customer problems.

You will be a good fit if you are:

* Strong at creating and editing short-form video content
