Accountant - Xero Hong Kong (Reports to: CEO and CFO)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant with expertise in Xero + EXPERT Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Hong Kong bookkeeping practices. This position is integral to our finance operations and will directly support the CEO and CFO in maintaining accurate financial records and streamlining accounting processes.


Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations using Xero, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
• Create, maintain, and update accounting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in ---------- for team efficiency and compliance
• Prepare financial statements and reports in accordance with both Hong Kong and international accounting standards
• Handle multi-currency transactions and HK tax compliance requirements
• Reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies; provide recommendations for process improvements
• Assist with audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors
• Collaborate with CEO and CFO on financial planning, forecasting, and strategic initiatives
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all accounting records and financial reporting
• Train tea ---------- mbers on Xero and accounting SOPs as needed
• Stay current with changes in HK tax law and accounting regulations

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience with Xero accounting software (minimum 2 years)
• Advanced proficiency in HK bookkeeping and accounting practices
• Experience creating and maintaining documentation in Notion or similar systems
• Strong understanding of HK accounting standards
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Fluency in English (verbal and written)
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with international companies or multi-currency accounting
• Knowledge of other accounting software beyond Xero
• Experience in SOP development and process optimization
• Familiarity with payroll processing in HK jurisdiction
• Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting
