JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Painting Estimator with a minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in the painting and construction industry. Australian painting and construction estimating experience is essential and applicants without Australian industry experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and analyze construction drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
Perform accurate quantity takeoffs using PlanSwift and Togal.AI.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and competitive tender submissions for commercial and residential painting projects.
Assess labor, material, equipment, access, and subcontractor costs.
Identify project risks, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities.
Liaise with project managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure accurate pricing and scope coverage.
Maintain estimating databases and historical cost records.
Deliver high-quality estimates within strict tender deadlines.

Essential Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of painting estimating experience.
Proven Australian estimating experience within the painting or construction industry.
Advanced proficiency in PlanSwift and Togal.AI.
Strong understanding of Australian construction methods, painting specifications, standards, and tendering processes.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and construction drawings.
Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
Experience preparing successful tenders for commercial and residential painting projects.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience estimating large-scale commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, or government projects.
Knowledge of Australian building codes, specifications, and industry standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other construction estimating software.
Demonstrated history of accurate estimating and successful tender outcomes.

The successful candidate will be a proactive and results-driven professional with strong Australian industry knowledge, capable of producing accurate estimates that contribute to profitable project delivery.
