JOB OVERVIEW

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're a small, fast-growing content and digital services business. We help our clients turn material they already have into a range of polished, ready-to-use marketing pieces. A lot of the heavy lifting is handled by systems we've already built. What we need is a sharp, reliable person to run those systems day to day and make sure everything that goes out the door is accurate and high quality.

This isn't a create-from-scratch role, and it isn't mindless button-pushing either. You're the human quality check that sits between our tools and the client. The whole value of the role is that you catch what the tools get wrong.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Work through a queue of clients using a clear step-by-step process we'll train you on
- Do light research to gather a few pieces of source material for each client
- Run our content system and review everything it produces
- Quality check each piece closely. This is the core of the job:
* Short video clips: make sure each clip features the right person and ends cleanly on a complete thought, never mid-sentence. Re-edit and re-export if it isn't right
* Written pieces: check that every name, detail and link is correct, and that the links actually work. Fix or regenerate anything that's off
- Once a batch is clean and ready, prepare and send a short client-facing message using our template, adjusted for anything specific that client raised, and log the result in our system

YOU'LL BE GREAT AT THIS IF YOU ARE

- Genuinely obsessive about details. You notice a wrong name or a broken link before anyone else does
- Comfortable with tech and online tools, or quick and willing to learn them. You won't be thrown by following a technical process step by step
- A strong written English communicator who can adapt a short templated message so it reads naturally
- Reliable and consistent. You follow a process exactly and flag anything that looks off rather than guessing
- Able to judge when something is good enough to send to a paying client versus when it needs another pass

NICE TO HAVE (NOT REQUIRED)

- Experience with short-form video editing tools
- Comfortable working in spreadsheets or simple databases
- Worked with a content or marketing team before

DETAILS

- Part-time to start. There's an initial backlog to clear, so expect roughly 15 to 20 hours a week for the first month or two, settling to around 8 to 12 hours once we're caught up
- Flexible hours and mostly async, so you can work in your own time as long as turnaround is reliable and we can have the occasional check-in
- Rate: USD $6 per hour to start, reviewed after the first month. Strong performers who take real ownership can grow into more hours and a higher rate
- Long-term role for the right person. I'd much rather train one reliable person well than churn through cheap hires

HOW TO APPLY

Read this carefully, because the first thing I'm checking is whether you actually do.

1. Start your application message with the phrase "clean cut" so I know you read to the end
2. In two or three sentences, tell me about a time you caught a small mistake that other people missed, and why it mattered
3. Tell me which video or content tools you've used before, if any

I'm not looking for the longest application. I'm looking for the most careful one.
