We are building tools that support authors through editing, collaboration, translation, protection, publishing preparation, and beyond.
We are looking for a trusted, professional Community & Social Media Coordinator to help us engage with writers, readers, industry professionals, and potential partners across our social media channels.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, communicating with people, and creating positive experiences within online communities.
Position Overview
As a Community & Social Media Coordinator, you will represent Bookcicle and its leadership team through our social media accounts.
You will be responsible for engaging with our community, responding to comments and messages, identifying opportunities for connection and collaboration, and helping ensure our social media presence remains active, responsive, and professional.
This role requires excellent written English, strong judgment, professionalism, and a high degree of trustworthiness.
Schedule & Availability Requirements
This is an active engagement role and requires regular online availability.
Applicants must:
Be available Monday through Friday.
Maintain significant overlap with U.S. business hours.
Consistently monitor assigned social media channels during scheduled working hours.
Respond to community interactions in a timely manner.
Be dependable, responsive, and proactive throughout the workday.
Notify the team in advance of planned absences or schedule changes.
Primary Responsibilities
Community Engagement
Respond to comments across social media platforms.
Respond to direct messages professionally and appropriately.
Engage with writers, readers, publishing professionals, and industry communities.
Build authentic relationships through meaningful interactions.
Monitor notifications and ensure timely responses.
Support community growth through engagement and outreach.
Identify opportunities for collaboration, partnerships, and strategic relationships.
Community Growth & Outreach
In addition to responding to inbound comments and messages, this role is responsible for actively participating in relevant online communities where writers, authors, readers, and publishing professionals gather.
Responsibilities may include:
Participating in writing communities and discussion groups.
Engaging thoughtfully within relevant Reddit communities.
Engaging within
Supporting relationship-building within industry conversations.
Identifying opportunities to provide value and contribute to discussions.
Monitoring conversations relevant to Bookcicle's audience.
Sharing insights and opportunities with the team.
Building awareness through authentic participation and engagement.
This role is not focused on spam, mass outreach, or promotional posting.
Success comes from becoming a genuine and helpful participant within communities that align with Bookcicle's audience.
Candidates should be comfortable:

Activity within these communities should be documented within the company's Airtable system as part of regular (per shift) reporting and engagement tracking.
Social Media Support
Monitor social media accounts daily.
Assist with content scheduling when needed.
Maintain consistent brand voice across platforms.
Track audience questions, concerns, and feedback.
Flag important conversations and opportunities for follow-up.
Support community-building initiatives and campaigns.
Brand Representation
Represent Bookcicle professionally in all public interactions.
Exercise sound judgment when responding on behalf of the company.
Escalate sensitive issues when necessary.
Protect confidential company information.
Maintain professionalism and positivity in all communications.
Accountability & Work Tracking
This role requires a high level of accountability, transparency, and organization.
The successful candidate will be expected to document completed work within the company's Airtable workspace and maintain accurate records of daily activities.
Responsibilities include:
Maintaining daily engagement logs.
Recording completed tasks and interactions.
Tracking community engagement activities.
Documenting important conversations and opportunities.
Logging customer feedback and recurring questions.
Updating assigned tasks and statuses.
Providing visibility into completed work during each shift.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with authors, publishing companies, SaaS businesses, startups, or educational brands.
Experience managing founder or executive social media accounts.
Experience with customer support or community management.
Familiarity with Airtable.
Experience using social media management tools.
Experience working with international teams.
