The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Estimator & CAD Designer to play a pivotal role in our project lifecycle. In this unique position, you will be the bridge between our sales/engineering and operations teams. You will be responsible for creating accurate project estimates/proposals and transforming those concepts into detailed, build-ready drawings. Your work will directly contribute to our ability to win projects and execute them flawlessly.

Key Responsibilities
HVAC Estimating (Approx. 80%):

Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive time, cost, and labor estimates for HVAC projects.

Perform quantity take-offs for materials, equipment, and labor.

Solicit and review quotes from vendors and subcontractors.

Prepare detailed and competitive bid proposals for a variety of projects.

Collaborate with sales managers, project managers, and engineers to ensure estimates are accurate and feasible.

Participate in pre-bid meetings and site walk-throughs as needed.

Maintain and update a database of costs and estimating tools.

CAD Design & Drafting (Approx. 20%):

Develop detailed HVAC design drawings, including ductwork layout, piping plans, equipment schedules, and installation details using AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD MEP.

Convert preliminary concepts and design sketches into permit and construction-ready drawings.

Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other trades to resolve design conflicts through detailed drawings.

Ensure all designs and drawings comply with company standards, project specifications, and relevant codes (IMC, IECC, etc.).

Revise and update drawings based on redlines and feedback from project managers and field personnel.

What You Bring (Qualifications & Experience)
Required:

Proven experience (5+ years) in HVAC estimation and CAD design/drafting.

**Fast Duct Experienced Preferred**

High proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; experience with AutoCAD MEP or Revit MEP is a significant plus.

Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and principles.

Solid knowledge of mechanical codes and construction practices.

Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience with estimating software (e.g., FastDuct, Bluebeam, AutoCAD).
